5th Anniversary: Walking Together – Louisville
Saturday, Sept 28 9a-2:15p 3308 Chauncey Avenue, Lou, KY 20211
All are invited to join the faithful of the local Church community for a talk with Archbishop Fabre, gospel music, and a pilgrimage for racial justice and reconciliation in the Church and beyond.
Pilgrims who start at Christ the King will walk about 4.5 miles. If you want or need to walk for a shorter distance, you are invited to meet at any of the stopping points or for the conclusion of the pilgrimage at the times approximated below. (Note that they are subject to change.)
9:00 – Gather and mingle at Presentation Academy. Light refreshments provided.
9:30 – Opening Remarks, presentation with Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre, and musical performances by the Archdiocesan Gospel Choir & the Prezettes (Presentation’s vocal ensemble)
10:30 – Walking pilgrimage begins
11:00 – Arrive at St. Augustine (break, prayer)
11:15 – Continue pilgrimage to St. Martin de Porres
12:00 – Arrive at St. Martin de Porres (break, prayer)
12:15 – Continue pilgrimage to Immaculate Heart of Mary
12:45 – Arrive at Immaculate Heart of Mary for Closing Prayer Service and Acknowledgements
1:15 – Fellowship Lunch
2:15 – Wrap-up and departure

Please note that the start point and end point of the pilgrimage are about 4.5 miles apart. Please make a plan for your own transportation at the end of the pilgrimage. Options include arranging with someone drop you off at the start and pick you up at the end; arriving with two cars and time to leave one at the end and drive back to the start; or being prepared to take public transportation back to your vehicle at the end of the walk.
