It’s Catholic Services Appeal Season
Dear St. Frances of Rome Parishioners,
May God bless you. It is that time of year again when I write you an encouraging and uplifting letter about supporting the Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) for the Archdiocese of Louisville. Specifically, this is really Archbishop Fabre’s opportunity to ask all of the faithful in 110 parishes and in 24 counties in Central Kentucky to join him in his work of shepherding, leading, teaching, and guiding all of us entrusted to his care.
I know that I am still new to SFR, but I need you to know that I fully support the work of the Catholic Services Appeal. I began donating to the CSA what little I could while studying as a seminarian for the Archdiocese from 2007-2015. Now, I am able to give more and I give more, because so much has been given to me – not only my vocation to the priesthood – but all of you I have been called to serve.
This year’s theme is “As the Father has sent me, so I send you” (John 20:21). Archbishop Fabre is sending us into our Lord’s vineyard where so many people benefit from our generosity. Sometimes we get so caught up in making our financial goal that we forget about our donor participation goal. As pastor, that is what is most important to me, that we all give something. Many hands make light work. All I am asking of you is to give something to the CSA. You are a member, not only of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, but a member of the local Church of Louisville, and the Universal Church throughout the world.
The Lord is sending us on a mission. Whether it is to Clifton, Middletown, Prospect, St. Matthews, Shively, or all the way to the Tennessee border, we all have a responsibility to take care of those who are in need: need of formation, need of resources, need of money, need of love, of compassion, and prayers.
Please join me as we make this journey together. Our financial goal is $38,900 and our donor goal is 87. Archbishop Fabre is asking us to help him and this Archdiocese…Our God is asking us to help His people…Our Lord is asking us to help take care of those who need us the most. Jesus was sent by God and now He sends us to care for those who cannot do it without us.
Thank you for your generous hearts. Please pray for me, and know of my prayers for you!
