An Update on Our New Sewing Ministry
The new sewing ministry roster is filling up with parishioners from both of our parishes, but there’s still plenty of room for more to join.
As a new outreach ministry, the sewing group is open to participation from both parishes, and to people of all skill levels. Our goal is to make and provide items to those in need. For example, we have reached out to Little Way Pregnancy Resource Center and Lifehouse Maternity to determine whether they need baby quilts for new moms. We are also looking into possibly providing pillowcases for kids with cancer. There will be several non-profit organizations in our community who will benefit from items this group will create.
You do not need to be a seamstress (or seamster for any fellas that are interested) to join this ministry since we need people to cut fabric, do some hand sewing, and make deliveries of finished items. If you want to learn how to sew, there will be opportunities for “on the job” training to learn how.
