A Message from Our Pastor
August 31/September 1, 2024
St. Frances of Rome Parishioners and Guests,
As you are most likely aware, on Sunday evening of last week (while it was still light outside) a vandal pulled his car in front of our church, backed into the alley, got out of his car with a rather large sledgehammer, and took one swing each to three of our beautiful stained-glass windows. After hitting the third window he casually got into his car and drove off. It was a white male, roughly in his late 20’s to early 30’s, driving what appeared to be a 12-year-old dark silver 4 door Ford Fusion Sport.
We do not have any witnesses; we do have camera footage, which has been turned over to the police and we have filed a police report. We have contacted the Archdiocese and Catholic Mutual (who handles our property insurance). We are currently securing bids to have the windows repaired as well as installing better outer protection barriers to our windows as well.
I ask that you please pray for this vandal, that he will seek forgiveness from God for vandalizing His house. As you know, it could have been a lot worse.
I ask that when you are on property or in the neighborhood, please be watchful, be alert, and please be careful. If you ever see anything suspicious, call 911.
As soon as more updates are available, I will certainly pass them along to you.
Have a blessed, happy, and safe week,
Father Shayne
Pastor
