Excel in all that we do!
My Dear St. Frances of Rome Parishioners,
May God’s peace be with you! I want to thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality you showed me this past weekend. I enjoyed celebrating all the Masses with you and enjoying some time together after Mass as well. I continue to study our Parish Pictorial Directory in hopes that I will soon be able to call you by name. That is one of my gifts, but it does take some time and some trial and error (if I don’t get it right, or if I have a blank look on my face, please remind me your name).
I want to thank members of our Parish Council and other parishioners for setting up, serving, and cleaning up the coffee and donuts we enjoyed last week. I am so glad many of you came by to say hello and to spend some time together. I hope we can do more of that.
This week I have a challenge for you. I would like for you to think of someone (a parishioner) you haven’t seen in a while at St. Frances of Rome, and invite them back. Perhaps you have a friend, a family member, or a neighbor who is looking for a church home? Invite them to join us! Sometimes in life, half of the battle is just showing up.
St. Paul reminds us this weekend (the 13th Sunday of Ordinary Time) in his 2nd Letter to the Corinthians, “to excel in all that we do.” Remember, excellence is not perfection. I hope and pray that all of us strive for excellence in all that we say and all that we do.
I wish you and your loved ones God’s peace and many blessings!
Fr. Shayne
Pastor
