Equestrian Order Invests New Knights from the Archdiocese of Louisville

LACROSSE, Wis. – The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem invested four members of the faithful from the Archdiocese of Louisville into the Order at the North Central Lieutenancy’s annual Investiture held in Lacrosse, Wis., on Oct. 6, 2024.
In a solemn investiture ceremony held at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in Lacrosse, Sir Matthew J. Brotzge, KHS, Sir John L. Campbell, KHS, Sir Gregory P. Herberger, KHS, and Sir Bruce C. Hines, KHS, were invested as Knights into the Order of the Holy Sepulchre by His Excellency, Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki, KC*HS, Archbishop of Milwaukee and Lieutenancy Coadjutor Prior. The investiture was followed by a memorial mass for the deceased members of the Lieutenancy who had died during the year.
The new knights will join the ranks of the Louisville-Owensboro Section of the Order. Sir John Campbell and Sir Gregory Herberger are parishioners at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Louisville; Sir Matthew Brotzge is a parishioner at St. Frances of Rome, Louisville; Sir Bruce Hines is a parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Louisville.
The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem is a Pontifical Order of Chivalry under the protection of the Holy See. Its origins can be traced back to the year 1099 and the First Crusade. Members make a lifetime commitment to live a life of the Order’s spirituality and make a commitment to the Order’s mission of service and support for the Christians in the Holy Land. Today the Order numbers over 30,000 members worldwide. The North Central Lieutenancy covers the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
