Dear St. Frances of Rome Parishioners and Visitors with us this weekend,
May God bless you! As I mentioned in my homily last weekend, we are now in the Bread of Life Discourses from the Gospel of John, Chapter 6. Last weekend Jesus took what little he had and fed the 5,000! He calls us to do the same…use whatever we have and feed those entrusted to our care. This weekend in John 6, Jesus makes the clear distinction that it is one thing to be fed with food, it is another thing to be fed for eternity. “For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
With that being said, I continue to encourage you to reach out to those who should be with us every weekend, and for whatever reason are not. Please let us know who is sick, homebound, or in nursing homes. Please let us know who needs to be visited and ministered to. We all need the Bread come down from Heaven, but those who are away may need it even more. Where are our lost parishioners?
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”
What are you hungering for? What are you thirsting for? Come and see…and bring someone along with you!
God love you always,
-Father Shayne,
Pastor
