From the Desk of Father Steven
Inspired by Pope Francis’ recent encyclical, “Dilexit Nos”, I have been spending prayer time reflecting on the Heart of Jesus Christ.
There are devotional activities and exercises associated with the Church’s long tradition of true love of Jesus Christ and special respect and veneration for the Blessed Sacrament. One especially powerful prayer is the “Prayer of Trust in the Sacred Heart.”
In all my temptations, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In all my weaknesses, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In all my difficulties, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In all my trials, I place my trust I you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In all my sorrows, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In all my work, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In every failure, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In every discouragement, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In life and in death, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In time and in eternity, I place my trust in you, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Beginning on Wednesday, December 4, we will be celebrating the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following Mass and continuing through 5:30pm. The Season of Advent is a special time engaging in traditional devotions, such as Adoration. Please consider spending a part of your Wednesday during Advent with our Eucharistic Lord!
Peace,
-Father Steven
