St. Frances of Rome’s New Devotional Votive Candle Stand!

The votive stand was generously donated by an anonymous St. Frances of Rome parishioner.  Fr. Lou, the SFR Parish Council and Staff would like to extend a huge thank you for this generous gift for the church.

The previous candle stand was behind St. Frances of Rome’s bronze statue which had to be removed during the renovation of the church in April 2021.  The previous stand caused significant damage to the wall and plaster.  During the renovation all the damage was repaired.  The new stand is free standing and can hold twenty four (24), eight (8) day votive candles.

Lighting a candle for someone or for a special prayer request is a way to both extend one’s prayers and shows solidarity with the person the prayer is being made for.  One can also light candles as a sign of gratitude to God for answered prayers.  A donation box is located on the front of the stand where one is free to leave a donation to pay for their candle(s).  Our parish cost per candle is approximately $15.00 and while it is not required to make a donation, we would appreciate a donation to offset our candle cost.
